Invisalign offers a much more discreet way to straighten your teeth than traditional braces. Thanks to the system's innovative technology, it's easier than ever to improve your smile. Bothell, WA, family dentist Dr. Kimberly Chapman helps her patients straighten their teeth and Invisalign Bracescorrect orthodontic issues with Invisalign.

What is Invisalign?

When you wear traditional braces, your braces are usually the first thing people notice about your smile. Invisalign eliminates the need for wires and brackets and uses clear, removable aligner trays to re-position your teeth instead. The trays are constructed with a comfortable, flexible plastic material created just for Invisalign. Thanks to the thin, transparent plastic used to produce them, Invisalign trays are practically invisible.

How does Invisalign correct orthodontic issues?

Your Bothell family dentist develops a treatment plan for you using a 3D image of your mouth that she creates by combining digital impressions, X-rays and images. Once the plan is finalized, a series of trays are produced for you. The trays exert constant, gentle pressure on your teeth, which gradually realigns them. Each tray in the series is designed to achieve a particular straightening goal. You'll wear the trays for approximately 22 hours per day and will usually wear a set for two weeks before replacing it with a new set.

Is Invisalign right for me?

Invisalign is a good choice if you:

  • Don't Like the Way Your Teeth Look: Invisalign treatment straightens crooked teeth and also improves the position of teeth that have drifted slightly over the years.
  • Have a Mild to Moderate Bite Problem: Overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites can be effectively treated with Invisalign. Severe bite problems or complicated issues may require treatment with metal braces.
  • Want a Convenient Orthodontic Option: If you don't like the idea of removing hard or sticky foods from your diet during your treatment or following a complicated oral hygiene routine, Invisalign may just be the perfect option for you. You'll take your aligners out before eating or brushing your teeth and won't need to make any changes to your usual hygiene regimen. You can also remove your trays for a few hours if you have special plans for the evening or will be playing your favorite sport.
